Welcoming Jack Marion & Chris McGinnis As Writers

Hey readers,

I personally wanted to welcome Jack Marion & Chris McGinnis to our writing team. Both are artists and we are really excited for the insight they will be able to give on the state of the industry, in-depth reviews of songs and albums, insider news and much more. I trust these guys and they have a lot to say so we wanted to give them a voice outside of their own music. These guys will for sure help us increase our content output so that we have fresh reads on the site every time you visit!

About Jack and his band

Jack Marion & The Pearl Snap Prophets

Formed in 2017 in the mountains of North Carolina, Jack Marion and The Pearl Snap Prophets bring the storytelling of folk music and mix it with the high-energy and recklessness of outlaw country. The band was born out of an idea between founding members Jack Marion (vocals/guitar), Chandler Bell (bass), and Marcus Clonts (drums) to make music reminiscent of their favorite artists (Johnny Cash, Turnpike Troubadours, American Aquarium, Tom Petty) and to create songs that they themselves would enjoy. The band then brought in members Owen Myers (Lead Guitar) and Matt Guard (Keyboard) to round out their sound. With their style of Country Rock, Jack Marion and The Pearl Snap Prophets keep audiences moving and never leave a crowd disappointed. Hard work and perseverance drive the band to continue to play shows across the state of North Carolina and reach audiences at every corner of the Old North State.

The band released their debut EP “Devil and Me” August 24th, 2018 and are preparing to head back into the studio to begin work on a full-length album to be released in 2019. For now, the band continues to play shows and win fans over the hard way.

About Chris McGinnis

Chris McGinnis Music

Chris McGinnis is a songwriter in Boone, North Carolina. Since he was 13 years old, Chris has performed in groups ranging from rock n roll cover bands to Flamenco guitar ensembles. By the time he finished high school, Chris had soaked up the influence of Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Tom Petty, and John Prine- songwriters who are all equally musicians and poets. Drawing from his Appalachian background and love of music and literature, Chris' songs utilize a unique brand of country-rock to tell tales of starry-eyed troubadours and working-class romantics. There's a sense of hope and a sense of sorrow in his music, and the songs often bounce between a sniffle and a hiccup. Stay on the lookout as he saunters around North Carolina, and check out his brand new EP, Songs for You.
